You've got questions.

How does laser removal really work?

Laser tattoo removal is a safe, effective way to erase or lighten unwanted tattoos using advanced laser technology. The process works by targeting the tattoo ink with high-intensity pulses of light that break down the ink particles. These smaller ink particles are then naturally flushed out by the body’s immune system over time.

Different wavelengths of light are used to treat various colours of ink. For example, black ink is the easiest to remove because it absorbs all wavelengths, while colours like green and yellow require specific wavelengths.

During a session, the laser emits quick pulses that penetrate the skin without damaging the surrounding tissue. Although you may feel slight discomfort, like the snap of a rubber band, numbing options are available to make the process more comfortable.

Laser removal requires multiple sessions, depending on factors like tattoo size, ink type, and depth. Each session is spaced several weeks apart to allow your skin to heal and to ensure the body has time to eliminate the ink. Side effects, such as redness or swelling, are minimal and usually subside within a few days.

While the procedure can significantly reduce or completely remove most tattoos, some residual ink may remain. Laser removal is a highly customizable process, so it can be tailored to individual needs for the best possible results.

Laser removal is ideal for those looking to clear their skin for a fresh start, a cover-up tattoo, or simply to remove a design that no longer resonates.
